I was completely overwhelmed with the amount of love and support I received from friends and family. My family advocated for me from day one and my friends flew from various locations to spend time with me. There were so many flowers, cards, calls, texts and thoughtful things in between...all of this meant the world to me. I am so fortunate to have these amazing people in my life.
Below are some photos of the fun parts of this journey - because, you gotta kinda embrace it at some point.
A local event our firefighters host every year honoring and celebrating woman with breast cancer.
A friend who surprised me by hanging pink lights around my house.
Some of the many thoughtful and creative gifts I received from friends and family. Humor goes a long way during this time!
My best friend who lives on the other coast. She's actually wearing one of my wigs in this pic.
Playing with hairstyles and hats. The hats helped the wigs that looked a little fake around the hairline.
D.C. friends who came for a visit. We had a blast!
Puppy love. My parent's french bulldog, Tank. Puppies make everything better.
My coworkers and I at a breast cancer event at The Harley Davidson store where motorcyclists are police-escorted on a trip to raise awareness and money for breast cancer.
Sometimes you gotta get boozy with it.
A huge thank you to my parents, to my brother, to my sister in law, to my friends...you guys really got me through this. I love you with all my heart!!
